Paul “Computer Paul” Henton has been a very acclaimed session musician/ producer in the reggae and dancehall fraternity for over thirty years. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry and has produced and played on several massive hits for most of the top Jamaican record labels as well as his Bootcamp label over the past decades.

He has produced and played on hits songs as “I can see clearly now” by Jimmy Cliff, “Grooving my girl” by Richie Spice, “World dance” by Beenie Man, “God is standing by“ George Nooks, “Love you too much” by Wayne Wade, Sizzla’s “No time to Gaze” and several tracks recorded by Shabba Ranks on both of his Grammy winning albums.

 

Computer Paul has also been behind several massive dancehall riddims including, The Corduroy, The Bulldozer, M-16, Bollywood, X-Treme and several others. He has also been acknowledged as the producer who kick started the career of Vybz Kartel as early as 1999, and has been associated with grooming and managing several reggae acts as Tanya Stephens, Stacious, Ky-an, Stevie Face, Pentateuch Band, and several others, and has managed to remain relevant and always supportive of new artists.

In 2016 Computer Paul launched his school for audio engineering called IMTP (Institute of Music Technology and Production) and continues to inspire, encourage, tutor and mentor the next generation of musicians, engineers and producers who will take the baton and continue the rich legacy of good quality reggae music coming from Jamaica.

 

With his appointment to the JARIA board in 2019 as Producers representative, he intends to address the needs of producers in the industry, to serve Jamaica, and to do his part in ensuring that the great legacy of reggae music continues for generations to come.
